With a B.A. in Piano Performance and more than 45 years of teaching experience, Irene K. Yeakel offers a patient, individual pathway from first notes to advanced preparation.
Lessons are tailored to the whole musician: technique, theory, listening, music history, performance, and the freedom to find your own musical voice.

Lessons & make-ups
Please notify Irene as soon as possible about illness. Eligible cancelled lessons may be rescheduled on the dedicated make-up dates listed in the calendar, by appointment.
Audio-Visual Lab & Music Library
The lab and library are available before or after a student’s lesson. Older students working on school music projects may arrange additional use of the studio resources.
Recitals & preparation classes
One private recital and preparation class is held each semester. Students are expected to participate, and family and friends are warmly invited.
ABRSM accreditation
Students may opt into this rigorous international program with parent, student, and teacher consent. It requires additional practice, study, examination travel, and focused preparation.
HCPTA activities
PK through High-School students may be invited to adjudicated and non-adjudicated countywide recitals, festivals, concerts, lectures, and joint recitals through the Harford County Piano Teachers Association.
